Mission Statement

Sycamore Community Schools will provide challenging, inspiring, and engaging educational experiences to equip students with critical skills that promote the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth needed to be highly successful in college and careers.

  1. Provide rigorous and relevant learning opportunities for students and staff. 
  2. Respect the investment of taxpayers and demonstrate responsible management of resources.
  3. Sustain a safe and secure learning community for every individual.
  4. Engage all shareholders in ongoing conversations about our students’ future and the future of the district.

  • students are the focus of all that we do;
  • we must address the needs of the total person; teaching the mind and the heart
  • we must be proactive in preparing for a changing world;

  • Students speak a total of 30 languages
  • 95.6% graduation rate
  • 87.8% of students attend college
  • 57 organizational activities are offered to students in grades 7-12
  • 46 athletic options are offered to students in grades 7-12
  • 86% of teachers have a master's degree or doctorate
  • 22 teachers have earned National Board Certification
  • 76 teachers have earned Master Teacher credentials
