Students Have A Big Dream To Build A Tiny Home
The Sycamore High School Architecture class has big dreams to build a tiny home. Students are hoping to fund, build, and sell their very own tiny house to support future ventures in the architecture and engineering programs.
Brad Williams, architecture and engineering teacher, originally asked students to design the floor plan for a house. Expectation for the project were exceeded as the team decided that they wanted to build the home instead of the standard shed that the course normally has students create.
The class has received tremendous support from the community and currently has the materials to build the basic structure of the home. Furthermore, Deer Park Roofing has recently committed to donating the roofing, siding, and wood to start the frame.
Students do not yet have the financial means to furbish the inside of their home though; over $8,000 is necessary to complete the project. They have asked for continued support by starting a GoFundMe page. If you are interested in donating to these high achieving students or learning more about the project visit http://goav.es/2jI1ZL5.
