Seventh graders Anelise Kim and Megan Radakovich, as well as eighth grader Emilio Garcia Islas were among 360 students from across the country selected to perform with Ohio State’s Middle School Honor Band.
Established in 2012, the Ohio State Middle School Honor Band Festival annually provides the opportunity for outstanding musicians in seventh and eighth grades to work with well-known composers and the Ohio State band faculty. Those selected take part in one of four concert bands - two 7th Grade Honor Bands and two 8th Grade Honor Bands.
All four honor bands presented the world premiere of a brand new composition by Andrew Boysen Jr. at the festival concert on Feb. 25 in the 2,400-seat Mershon Auditorium on The Ohio State University campus.
Sycamore Students Participate In Ohio State Middle School Honor Band
Three Sycamore Junior High students participated in the 2017 Ohio State University Middle School Honor Band Festival this past weekend in Columbus, Ohio.
