Sycamore High School To Host 1st Annual "Live for Liz" Event Feb. 11

Liz Lothrop Sycamore High School and Mason High School are teaming up in the fight against pediatric cancer this week in memory of Liz Lothrop.

The Lady Aves basketball team and the Lady Comets are hosting the first annual Live For Liz game on Saturday, February 11 at Mason Middle School. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. The rival teams came together to create this event to raise money for the Liz Lothrop Grant for CancerFree KIDS, a local organization that funds pediatric cancer research.

Liz Lothrop, daughter of beloved Sycamore math teacher Randy Lothrop, died in May 2016 after bravely battling her second bout with cancer. Liz attended Mason High School, where she played basketball.

Both teams are selling heart bracelets, t-shirts, and raffle tickets to raise additional funds to find a cure for childhood cancer.
