Director Of Maintenance Facilities Honored By The My GI Foundation

Sycamore Director of Maintenance & Facilities David Foster received the CINCY Soldiers Award by My GI Foundation at a special a ceremony on February 23.

Mr. Foster served in the United States Marine Crops from 1980 to 2003. Since retiring from the military, Mr. David Foster has been an asset to Sycamore Schools. He uses his military service and expertise to inform staff members about safety and security. He continues to also use his military service and his passion to teach students. He spends a great deal of time speaking to students of all grade levels within our school district. He is very active with several programs for veteran affairs and has made numerous key public speaking engagements regarding Veteran themes to include the City of Cincinnati Memorial Day Ceremony; Hamilton County Veterans Day recognition dinner; numerous school functions throughout Southwest Ohio. Mr. Foster is extremely deserving of recognition by My GI Foundation and their Cincy’s Soldiers Banquet.

Service Record: Assist commander as senior enlisted Marine for 144 Marines; Keep unit apprised of all policies of the commander; Advice commander of matters pertaining to the efficient operation of the command; Counsel subordinates as required to improve the general effectiveness of the command; Assist commander in all matters pertaining to discipline, both informal & formal; Assist in supervision of all unit administrative matters; training functions; logistic functions; inspections & investigations; personnel management; Possesses a comprehensive understanding of staff procedures and inter-organization relationships including inter-service organizations and relationships at the highest level to include both military, US government, and foreign government officials; Support commanders law enforcement and security requirements
