At Sycamore, we love serving each of your student’s both breakfast and lunch every school day! Child Nutrition Services operates in all seven schools and has on-site preparation kitchens. In addition to catering district-sponsored events, cafeterias districtwide serve breakfast and lunch to more than 5,000 students daily. We incorporate whole grains, low-fat dairy options, fresh produce and low sodium products into every meal at an affordable price. We offer side items to enhance a meal or provide an after school snack. Parents who wish to restrict what items their student(s) can purchase, can email Jessica Johnson, Child Nutrition and Wellness Director.
We are a self-supporting district department, meaning no tax dollars fund the CNS department and all CNS costs (equipment, supplies, and salaries) are paid via students or staff purchasing a school meal and federal reimbursement from the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.
Child Nutrition Services also provides meals to local parochial schools. Proceeds from these programs go to Sycamore Child Nutrition Services to assist in the improvement of the district program.
We love to offer them healthy, fresh and appealing meals. We pour effort and love into each meal we serve and hope all parents find a time to come to breakfast or lunch with your student and experience their meal time. This will help you to understand the flow of our meal services and see all the wonderful offerings available each day!
