  • Sycamore Community Schools is excited to announce our new mobile app designed specifically to keep families better informed and connected to what's going on in our schools.

    The app features:

    • The latest district and school news
    • Push notifications about breaking news, closures, weather, events, and more
    • Easy access to lunch menus and calendars
    • School and staff directory
    • Parent log-in to access grades, fees, and bus information

    The app is FREE and available for download today!

    We want your help to improve the app before the 2017-2018 school year! Please download this beta version and send us your feedback. It's easy, just click on the "Suggestions" icon inside the app!

How To Download The App

    • Go to the App Store or Google Play
    • Search "Sycamore Schools"
    • Select "Free" and then "Install"
    • You will need to know your apple or google account password
    • After it has installed select "Open"
    • You have now downloaded the app

How to Customize Your News and Calendar Feeds

  • To customize your news:

    • Select the News icon
    • By default, you will see all the district level news feeds
    • Select the "Wheel" in the top right-hand corner
    • Select which school(s) you wish to follow
    • Choose which type of news you want to follow
    • Select "Back" and then "Done"
    • Now your customized selection will display in your News Section

     To customize your calendar:

    • Select the Calendar icon
    • Select the "Wheel" in the top right-hand corner
    • Select which school(s) you wish to follow
    • Select "Done"
    • Your App is now customized

View Grades, Attendance, Fees, & Bus Information

    • The Sycamore Schools App allows you to view your child's grades, assignments, attendance record, bus stop information, and cafeteria balance.
    • Select the "Student Info Log-In" icon
    • You will need to enter your Parent Portal Login ID and password. If you don't know your Parent Portal information, click here for help. 
    • Once you are logged in you will see icon(s) for each of your child displayed.
    • Click on your child's name.
    • To view grades click on "Classes". You will see the grades on the right-hand side.
    • To view specific assignments and grades for those assignments, select a class.

Resources Icon

    • Select "For Parents, "For Students" or "For Staff" under the "Resources" icon.
    • Select your school.

    For Parents:

    • This section includes useful links to your school PTO, Counseling, Boosters, and weekly newsletters.

    For Students:

    • This section includes useful links to your bell schedules, handbooks, announcements, and the Launch Pad. 

    For Staff:

    • This section includes useful links to Progress Book, the Help Desk, Mastery Connect, and the Launch Pad.

    You can also customize your resources by clicking "Change" in the upper right-hand corner. This will allow you to select your school first, then access your resources depending on if you are a parent, student, or staff.

Set Up Push Notifications

    • Open the App
    • Swipe the screen to the second page and select "Notifications"
    • You will see "Academic Alerts"
    • Your "Inbox" is any messages you have received through our new ParentLink Communication System
    • Alerts are push notifications that pop-up on your phone
    • To set-up an alert select the "Wheel" in the top right-hand corner.
    • You can set up alerts for:
      • Any time a new message is sent
      • When you child’s class grades drops below a certain threshold
      • When your child’s assignment grade drops below a certain threshold
      • When your child’s grade has been updated by the teacher
      • When your child’s teacher has posted a new assignment
    •  To set a threshold select an alert topic
    • Change "Off" to "On"
    • Then pick your threshold
