Help Students Find their Passion

  • What do you want to be when you grow up?  When asking a 4th grader you might get fireman, doctor, or superhero.

With our students we are asking them to identify their interests and skills to find out what they may want to do after high school.

The most critical question on the document below is, "Post High School Plans".  That is what should drive their courses, internships and experiences as they make tough choices on how to spend their time at school.

In December 2019, we started the process of advisement for the 2020-2021 school year and the first three answers were:

    1. Engineer
    2. Marine Biologist/Technician
    3. I don't know--I just want to help people

Those are all great answers.  By finding experiences for the students to help them find their path, we are allowing them to approach college or their career more aware.

    Success comes in two paths:

    1. I found out I want to be an Engineer
    2. I found out I did NOT want to be an Engineer
