Sycamore Junior High

Who We Are

  • Sycamore Junior High School offers a multitude of learning opportunities to nearly 900 seventh- and eighth-grade students. The course offerings provide both academic challenge and the opportunity for success for all students. These junior high years are important years of transition for students and their parents. The school theme, “freedom with responsibility,” describes Sycamore Junior High's approach to working with young people. SJH requires more responsibility from students than was previously required, while extending more freedom to them as they demonstrate this responsibility.

Sycamore Junior High School offers more than 70 courses including four global languages and nine accelerated courses. Students are also offered 21-century career classes such as broadcast journalism, technology applications, automation and robotics.

Students can also participate in more than 23 clubs and activities, as well as 17 athletics options.
