  • E.H. Greene Intermediate

The new E.H. Greene Intermediate opened to Grades 5-6 students in August 2022. The new building features collaborative spaces between team classrooms, two courtyards, a brand new cafeteria, and a Media Center/STEAM space. The old gymnasiums have been renovated and the old cafeteria has been converted into a music suite for our band, orchestra, and choir classes.

  • Symmes Elementary

The renovations to Symmes Elementary were completed in August 2022. The project included a full renovation of all classrooms, cafeteria, media center, and gymnasium. The gym now includes a stage for performances. The Anne Van Kirk Early Childhood Wing was opened in Fall 2021 to expand Sycamore's preschool program and kindergarten program.

  • Sycamore Junior High

Construction continues on the new Sycamore Junior High School. The district anticipates the new Grades 7-8 building will be ready for students for the 2023-24 school year. The new facility will feature large classrooms, a music suite, a new cafeteria and gymnasium, as well as a state-of-the-art theater for performances.

Sycamore Community Schools celebrated the grand opening of the brand new stadium at Sycamore High School on September 16. The grand opening marked the first time in school history that a varsity football game had been played on the high school campus.

The $6 million project was paid for with a combination of bond issue dollars and private funding. Phase I includes a new 2500+ seat stadium, turf, concession stands, ticketing booth, and a grand entry plaza. The district is currently raising money for Phase II of the project, which includes new home and visitor fieldhouses. If the funding is secured, Phase II will be completed for Fall 2023.
