Board Policy

Board Policy & Staff Handbook

Policy

Board policies serve as the guiding framework for how our district operates. They establish clear expectations, ensure compliance with state and federal laws, and provide consistency across all areas of our schools. Policies are important because they support transparency, accountability, and alignment between the Board of Education, district leadership, and the community we serve.

The Sycamore Board of Education maintains an active Policy Committee that meets monthly to review, update, and recommend changes to policies. This committee includes two Board members and representatives from district administration, ensuring that policies reflect both governance priorities and operational needs.

For any questions about board policy and how it applies in practice, staff and families are encouraged to reach out directly to their building administrators, who can provide guidance and support.
