Continuing Contract Process
Sycamore Community Schools is committed to recognizing and supporting the long-term contributions of our educators. A continuing contract provides eligible teachers with ongoing employment status once they have met specific service and licensure requirements outlined in Ohio law and the district’s collective bargaining agreement.
To be considered for a continuing contract:
- Teachers must hold the appropriate professional license.
- Eligibility is confirmed after meeting state and district service requirements.
- Eligible teachers are placed into a full evaluation cycle to demonstrate continued effectiveness.
- Following evaluations, a recommendation is made by the Superintendent to the Board of Education for final approval.
This process ensures that continuing contracts are awarded fairly, based on both professional qualifications and performance. Teachers interested in pursuing a continuing contract should communicate with their building administrator and follow the timeline shared each school year. For additional guidance, staff may contact the Human Resources Department.
