At Sycamore, student health and safety are top priorities. While families play the lead role in managing health, our school nurses are trusted partners in supporting your child’s well-being throughout the school day

What Our School Nurses Do

Sycamore nurses help students stay healthy, safe, and ready to learn. They provide:

  • Health screenings (hearing, vision, more)

  • First aid and illness care

  • Medication administration & chronic condition support (diabetes, asthma, etc.)

  • Mental health support and referrals

  • Communicable disease monitoring & prevention

  • Emergency response planning

  • Health education for students, families, and staff

Keeping Schools Safe

Our nurses support safety by:

  • Monitoring flu outbreaks and other communicable illnesses

  • Managing injuries and accidents on school grounds

  • Leading emergency preparedness efforts

Need Help with Care or Coverage?

If your family is uninsured or struggling to access medical services, school nurses can connect you to:

  • Local clinics and care programs

  • Mental health resources

  • Assistance with medications or care plans

Have Questions or Concerns?

Reach out to your School Nurse if:

  • You’re unsure whether your child needs medical attention

  • You notice behavioral or emotional changes

  • You need resources about nutrition, hygiene, stress, or other topics

How Families Can Help

We encourage you to share:

  • Your child’s health history

  • Any serious injuries, chronic conditions, or hospitalizations

Mental Health Services

Sycamore Community Schools partners with Mindpeace and Cincinnati Children's Hospital to provide school-based therapy as well as medication services for student's receiving school-based therapy. Click here to learn more about these services.
