Sycamore Community School District has announced a leadership change that will take effect August 1, 2025. Mr. Taylor Porter, current principal of Sycamore High School, will transition into a new leadership role within the district’s central office. In his new role, Mr. Porter will coordinate programming to support students who are struggling academically and behaviorally.

“Strengthening student support systems is a priority, and Mr. Porter’s experience will be invaluable in this work,” said Superintendent Chad Lewis.

Mr. Porter will continue to serve as principal of Sycamore High School through the end of the current school year. The district is launching a comprehensive search for the next principal and will engage staff, students, and parents in the process to ensure a strong and successful leadership transition.

“Serving as principal of Sycamore High School has been an incredible honor—I have truly loved leading this school and working with our students, staff, and families,” said Mr. Porter. “This new role allows me to continue supporting students while also being more present for my family, which is very important to me.”
