Back-to-School Checklist

Don't miss a thing as you prepare for the new school year by following the Sycamore Community Schools Back-to-School checklist:

• Update your student's back-to-school forms through Final Forms (click here for Final Forms help)
• Apply for free and reduced lunch by clicking here. This form can also be used for free and reduced kindergarten tuition. (click here for instructions)
• If you do not qualify for free and reduced lunch, add funds to your student's lunch account through Parent Portal (click here for instructions)
• Log-in to Parent Portal beginning August 8 at 12:00 p.m. for classroom teacher assignments and schedules (New to Parent Portal? Adding additional students? Click here for instructions)
• Check your student's bus route information beginning August 7 by visiting the Transportation page (you will need your student ID number)
• Pay your child's academic fee ($40) through Parent Portal.  The academic fee is waived for students who qualify for free and reduced lunch. (click here for more information)
• Attend important back-to-school events (see Back-To-School Events below!)
• Review supply lists and purchase any supplies needed for the new school year:

2024-25 First Days of School

The first day of school is Aug. 14, 2024. However, not all students will report that day. The 2024-25 school year includes a number of transition days, which means a staggered start for students. Please carefully check your child's grade level below for first-day information.

• All Students report August. 19

KINDERGARTEN

• Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (by invitation): Aug. 14 or 15

• Kindergarten Transition Day for last names beginning A-K: Aug. 16

• Kindergarten Transition Day for last names beginning L-Z: Aug. 19

• All students report to school on Aug. 20

GRADES 1-4
