E.H. Greene Celebrates Earth Day with Bus Walk Bike Day on April 18
Students at E.H. Greene Intermediate are celebrating Earth Day by biking and walking to school.
Bus Walk Bike to School Day (BWB Day) is April 18. The entire E.H. Greene student body is encouraged to participate to reduce emissions from drop-offs and promote a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.
To start the day, students will either ride bikes from one of three meeting spots or make the mile-long walk from Sycamore Junior High to E.H. Greene Intermediate. All groups will be escorted by staff members and Blue Ash and Montgomery police officers.
Bike riders are asked to meet at 7:30 a.m. at one of the following locations:
- Swaim Park: 7650 Cooper Road 45242 (1.2 miles)
- Blue Ash Rec Center: 4433 Cooper Road 45242 (.9 miles)
- Market Vision- 5151 Pfeiffer Road 45252 (1.0 miles)
Students who wish to walk will be picked up at their normal morning bus stops and ride the school bus to Sycamore Junior High School, where they will walk to school as a group with the assistance of staff and local law enforcement.
Drivers should use caution between 7:15-8:45 a.m. and 2:45-3:30 p.m. especially along Cooper Lane and Delray Drive.
The Blue Ash Police Department will also set up a bike obstacle course on the playground during recess. Families are welcome to pick up their child’s bicycle during the school day so that they can ride the bus home or pick them up at the end of the day. Students who receive permission may also ride their bikes home.
If there is any inclement weather on April 18, BWB Day will be held on May 9.
