FIRST Lego League Kicks Off with In-District Tournament
The FIRST Lego League is kicking off their season with an in-district tournament on Friday October 30. FIRST Lego League is expanding to include all the elementary schools and E.H. Greene Intermediate School in their competition for students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade.
Participating student will face several challenges including building and programming an automated robot set to do various tasks, research and solve problems related to trash and waste management, and adhere to the Lego League Core Values of teamwork, gracious professionalism, and cooperation.
The first in-district practice tournament will take place from 3-8 p.m. at Blue Ash Elementary. Here, they will be able to practice their robotic abilities. There will be 99 students competing on 10 teams with 18 parent coaches. The teams will then go on to compete at regional tournaments with teams in the area.
The FIRST Lego League is brought to you by GEAR and Gifted Education's Mindy Zellner to provide a unique STEAM experience for students.
