Sycamore High School Hosts Hoops For Hope
Sycamore High School is excited to host their annual Hoops For Hope fundraiser on January 6. This year’s event will raise money for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati.
Students will hold various fundraising events during the week leading up to the Varsity Men’s Basketball game versus Fairfield High School on January 6. A special guest speaker will speak about the organization during halftime. Student Council will also be raffling off donated baskets and selling baked goods and t-shirts. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
Students chose to donate this year to the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati in honor of fellow classmates who have worked through the challenges of Down Syndrome. They hope to raise money and awareness to help the Sycamore family.
Last year, Hoops For Hope raised more than $9,000 for cancer research at Duke Clinical Research Institute in honor of math teacher Randy Lothrop, whose daughter Liz was undergoing cancer treatments at the facility. Liz passed away in May after a valiant battle with the disease.
