New Junior High Athletic Director Named

Sycamore Community Schools is proud to announce the new appointment of Jim DeJoy as Athletic Director of Sycamore Junior High. DeJoy has extensive knowledge and experience in Sycamore athletics as a physical education teacher and coach for 28 years.

“We are excited about having Mr. DeJoy move into the athletic director role,” said Traci Rea, Principal at Sycamore Junior High. “Jim will continue the legacy of excellent athletic programming that Sycamore Junior High provides for our student athletes.”

DeJoy has spent the last 25 years teaching at Sycamore Junior High School. He previously taught at Maple Dale Elementary. DeJoy coached track for 15 years, as well as 7th-grade basketball, cross country, and tennis. He also served as football coach at the junior high and Sycamore High School for 22 years.

DeJoy and his wife, Jill,  just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They have two daughters, Courtney, who is a sophomore at Ohio University, and Chloe who is a 6th grader.
