Sycamore High Student Achieves Perfect ACT Score
A Sycamore High School student has scored a perfect 36 score on the ACT exam. Senior Mitch Radakovich is one of less than 1,600 students in the nation to achieve a perfect score on the college entrance exam. That’s less than one-tenth of 1 percent of students who took the test.
“I am very happy to have achieved this,” said Radakovich. “I was feeling pretty confident when I took [the test]. I had prepared in the reading test, which was the one that I had needed the most work in.”
An active student, Radakovich is a member of Model UN, Improv Theatre, Youth Group, and the FIRST Robotics Team out of Montgomery. He is also serves as secretary for National Honor Society, a leader of Montgomery Relay for Life, and plays trombone in the Sycamore High School Band. As an Eagle Scout, Radakovich led a local Boy Scout troop. He also serves as the Pfieffer Park Youth Representative for the Montgomery Parks and Recreation commission and tutors students at Mathnasium in Loveland.
Radakovich is a member of the Varsity Academic Quiz Team, which won 2nd Team All-Conference during the 2015-2016 school year. He also won the Mercantile Library Book Award. Most recently, Radakovich was named one of Sycamore’s 11 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, meaning he scored in the top 1-percent of all students in the nation on the PSAT.
“Sycamore has prepared me by giving me the opportunities of difficult classes, valuable resources, and excellent extracurricular opportunities to advance me in my learning,” Radakovich said. “I love everything about Sycamore, and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.”
Radakovich points out it’s not all about the score, as he continues to apply to several colleges. He is interested in attending Columbia, Yale, UNC or Ohio State and double majoring in political science and data analytics. Mitch is the son of Angela and Troy Radakovich of Symmes Township.
