The Sycamore Community Schools Board of Education has elected new officers for 2017.
The Board unanimously elected Diane Adamec as Board president and Paul Balent as vice president during the January 4 organizational meeting. Adamec takes over for outgoing president Jean Staubach who will remain a member of the Board. This is Adamec’s fourth term as Board president.
Additional Board appointments included John Mercurio as legislative liaison. Melissa Weiss will serve as the student achievement liaison, the policy revision representative, and audit committee representative. Adamec will remain the Sycamore Advisory Commission representative. Former Board member Ken Richter will continue to serve Sycamore Schools as the representative for Great Oaks Academy.
The Board of Education also adopted a new meeting schedule for 2017. Meetings will continue to be held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. at the District Offices, 5959 Hagewa Drive, and the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Edwin H. Greene Intermediate School, 5200 Aldine Drive, unless otherwise announced.
