New Sycamore Junior High Administrator Named
Sycamore Community Schools is excited to announce the appointment of a new assistant principal at Sycamore Junior High School. Mr. George Sturgeon will join the administrative team for the 2017-2018 school year.
We are so glad to have Mr. Sturgeon joining the junior high family,” said Dr. Traci Rea, principal. “His knowledge of curriculum and instruction, relational skills, and student-centered approach will make him a great addition to Sycamore Community Schools."
Sturgeon comes to the Sycamore Family from Northwest Local School District, where he has served as the assistant principal of Colerain High School and Northwest High School during the past four years.
Mr. Sturgeon has also served as an administrator for the Hamilton County Educational Service Center. He spent four years working for West Clermont Schools as a special education teacher at Glen Este High School. Sturgeon earned two Masters degrees from the Northern Kentucky University for Instructional Leadership and Special Education. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati.
“I am so excited to join the leadership team at Sycamore Community Schools and to continue my professional growth in a district committed to educational excellence,” said Sturgeon.
Sturgeon is married with three children, Taylor, Kaitlyn, and Noah.His wife, Melanie, is a teacher at Glen Este.
Sturgeon will replace Damon Davis, who will be leaving Sycamore for Reading Middle School at the end of the school year. The Board of Education voted to approve Sturgeon at the April 19 Board meeting.
