GoZero Compost Stations Around Sycamore

Sycamore Community Schools is helping the community reduce food waste by providing new compost drop-off stations.

For years, it has been the district’s mission to reduce food waste educationally and operationally. In an effort to continue its positive impact the district has collaborated with GoZero where every 46 pounds of food waste composted removes the equivalent of one typical day’s worth of driving emissions from the atmosphere.

There are currently four stations across the district at Blue Ash Elementary, Symmes Elementary, Sycamore Junior High School and Sycamore High School. Residents are invited to sign up at to bring compostable food waste from home to one of the district drop-off stations where it will be composted rather than landfilled along with the school’s cafeteria waste.

Food waste is a major source of greenhouse gases and costs billions in natural resources and supply chain losses each year.

Drop-off stations are open dawn to dusk and can be found at the following link:, just look for the green buckets!
