Sycamore Names New Principal of E.H. Greene

Sycamore Community Schools is excited to announce Matt Tudor as the new principal of Edwin H. Greene Intermediate School pending Board approval. Mr. Tudor will assume his new role July 1, 2016. He replaces Mr. Phil Hackett who is retiring after 43 years.

Mr. Tudor is entering his 12th year in education. He comes to E.H. Greene from the Hamilton City School District, where he served as Director of Student Services for the past three years.

“After an extensive search and interview process, Matt emerged as the right leader at the right time for E.H. Greene,” said Frank A. Forsthoefel, superintendent. “He is a true servant leader focused on the power of relationships and teamwork to accomplish great things for students. We are truly fortunate to welcome him to the Sycamore family.”

Tudor graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education. He received his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati in 2011. Prior to serving on the Hamilton City Schools district administration team, Tudor was the assistant principal of Wilson Middle School. He also taught math for six years at Pleasant Run Middle School in the Northwest Local School District, and was the varsity boys basketball assistant coach at both Northwest and Clark Montessori high schools.

A committee of staff, parents, and district administrators thoroughly vetted all the candidates who applied for the position and ultimately selected Mr. Tudor as the next leader for E.H. Greene.

“I am so excited to join the team at E.H. Greene Intermediate School. I look forward to getting to know the staff, students, and community, and continuing to build on the established culture of the school” said Tudor.

Mr. Tudor and his wife, Amy, have two daughters, Brooklyn and Madison. They are expecting their third child in June.

The Sycamore Board of Education is expected to approve the hiring of Mr. Tudor at the Board meeting on May 4. Students and families will have the opportunity to meet Mr. Tudor during 4th Grade Orientation on May 17 at 6:00 p.m.
