German Delegation To Visit E.H. Greene School
Sycamore Community Schools is excited to welcome a delegation from Ilmenau, Germany to Edwin H. Greene Intermediate on Tuesday, September 27. The delegates’ visit is part of the Sister City program with the city of Blue Ash.
The group of representatives from Ilmenau will give a presentation about their city to the sixth-grade class. Student council members will give the guests a tour of the school after a question and answer session. Greene’s orchestra and chorus will also entertain the delegation with a brief performance.
Ilmenau, Germany is a community in the state of Thuringia with a population of 32,000. The City of Blue Ash and Ilmenau are celebrating their 14th year as Sister Cities. The Sister City program gives government officials, cultural and educational leaders a unique perspective on different ways to provide service to citizens and allows for a distinctive cultural exchange. Sycamore Community Schools have participated in exchange programs with Ilmenau, which gives the students in the community an opportunity to immerse themselves in another culture and study abroad.
