Sycamore Community Schools is excited to announce the appointment of a new assistant principal at E.H. Greene Intermediate School. Mr. Jay Meno will join the administrative team for the 2017-2018 school year, pending Board approval.
“Mr. Meno epitomizes the essence of servant leadership, making him a perfect fit for the Greene School team,” said Superintendent Frank Forsthoefel.
Meno comes to the Sycamore Family from Middletown City Schools, where he has served as the assistant principal at Middletown Middle School for the past three years. Prior to that, Meno taught AP Government at Lebanon High School for 17 years. He also served as the Social Studies department chair. Meno received his undergraduate and Masters of Curriculum from Ohio University and his Principal’s Licensure from the University of Dayton.
“We are excited to have Mr. Meno join the Greene School Family,” said Matt Tudor, principal. “His focus on serving students to enhance their experience will be a great fit for our team.”
Meno is married with a daughter, Avery, who is in fourth grade. His wife, Julie, graduated from Sycamore High School.
“As the husband of a 13-year Sycamore Schools attendee, I am well aware of the great learning community that I am joining,” Meno said. “I am so proud to be an Aviator and am looking forward to becoming part of a community that places such a value on education.”
Meno will replace Rebecca Heisler, who resigned in January. The Board of Education will vote to approve Meno at the April 5 Board meeting.
