Aves Theatre Perform At Cincy Shakespeare Festival

Aves Theatre students were invited to perform at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company Festival April 20-23.

The Sycamore High students along with 37 other local high school theater groups performed William Shakespeare’s complete canon of 38 plays at Cincinnati's iconic Memorial Hall. Their performance of an abridged version of “A Winter’s Tale” had a wonderful reception by crowd and facilitators at the festival hosted at Cincinnati’s Memorial Hall. Nearly 40 other local high school theater groups participated in the festival.

In preparation for the event, the acting technique students in grades 9-11 had master classes in Shakespeare performance with Cincinnati Shakespeare Director and Actor Jeremy Dubin.

The script was adapted by Ms. Sarah Garvey and freshman Bethany Brown. The performance was directed by Aves Theatre Director, Mr. John Whapham. Memorial Hall is managed by Aves Theatre Alum Joshua Steele.
