Sycamore Students To Appear in Opera Showcase
Rising sophomore London Brinkman and rising eighth grader Arielle Smith will be featured in The Young Artist’s Preparatory Program (YAPP), which teaches high school students through the Musical Arts Center.
YAPP is composed of a group of extremely talented singers who have been working hard for nine months to prepare the annual showcase performance. The 21 participants come from all over the Tri-State area, representing 9 local communities and 11 different high schools.
London and Arielle auditioned in September by preparing two full-length classical pieces and a
monologue. Students were chosen based on their intellectual, interpretive and performing abilities, musical skills, maturity, and integrity.
This year’s showcase will feature scenes from The Marriage of Figaro and Magic Flute by Mozart, Sullivan’s Mikado Die Fledermaus by Strauss, Va Pensiero by Verdi and many others.
Performances take place at the Anderson Center on:
Friday, June 16th @ 7:30 PM
Saturday, June 17th @ 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM
Sunday, June 18th @ 2:00 PM
Contact the MAC Office 513-321- 2766 to purchase tickets, $10 advance purchase, $12 at the
door.
Congratulations to London and Arielle on their excellence in classical music!
