Sycamore Welcomes New Child Nutrition & Wellness Director

Kelsey Gash with Board Sycamore Community Schools is excited to welcome Kelsey Gash to the Sycamore Family. The Board of Education approved Gash as the new Child Nutrition & Wellness Director at the December 20 meeting.

“We are excited to welcome Kelsey to our leadership team to further the vision of Child Nutrition and Wellness for Sycamore Schools. She truly is a servant leader focused on collaboration and innovation,” said Frank Forsthoefel, superintendent.

Gash comes to Sycamore from Lakota Local Schools, where she has served as the Child Nutrition Assistant Director, supervising the daily operation of 11 schools. She also spent time in Kings Schools and the Central Head Cook. Gash is a member of the School Nutrition Association of Ohio and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has served as Secretary and Treasurer of Chapter 31.

“I am honored to be joining Sycamore Schools,” said Gash. “Sycamore is a great district and the Child Nutrition program really focuses on the student’s total body of health, which is what drew me to this position in the first place. I cannot wait to get started and meet all of the wonderful staff and community.”

Gash will replace Jessica Johnson who resigned from the position in December. Her first day with the district will be January 8.
