Sycamore 57th Pancake Day Serves Up Songs and Syrup March 2

The Sycamore Band and Orchestra Boosters will host the 57th annual Pancake Day at Sycamore High School on March 2 from 8 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Pancakes will be served from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.  

Tickets are $6 and include pancakes, sausage, beverages and a free second helpings of pancakes. Tickets can be purchased from any band or orchestra student or at Sycamore High School the day of the event. 

Here is a look at the musical lineup provided by district bands and orchestras:

  • 8:30 a.m. HS Jazz Ensemble
  • 9:00 a.m. JH Orchestra
  • 9:30 a.m. 7th Grade Band
  • 10:00 a.m. 6th Grade Orchestra
  • 10:30 a.m. HS 5th Bell Wind Symphony
  • 11:00 a.m. 6th Grade Band
  • 11:30 a.m. HS Big Band
  • 12:00 p.m. 5th Grade Orchestra
  • 12:30 p.m. Winter Guard
  • 12:45 p.m. HS 6th Bell Symphonic Band
  • 1:15 p.m. Advanced Orchestra 
  • 1:45 p.m. 8th Grade Band
  • 2:15 p.m. HS Orchestra

The public is invited to listen to the performances for free.

Last year, Band and Orchestra parents cooked and served more than 170 gallons of pancake batter; 26 gallons of syrup; 1,800 cups of coffee; 2,000 cartons of milk; and 300 pounds of sausage to complete the breakfast offerings to more than 2,200 people.  

Pancake Day is part of the Sycamore Community Schools’ Fine Arts Fair, a free art exhibition at Sycamore High School that showcases Sycamore students’ works of art and photography.  The art exhibition is open to the public on Saturday, March 2 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Sunday, March 3 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Proceeds from Pancake Day benefit Sycamore Community Schools’ Instrumental Music Programs.
