Sycamore Treasurer Awarded Top State Honors For Service

Beth Weber Wins Virginia Ramsey Award Sycamore Community Schools Treasurer Beth Weber has been recognized for her outstanding service by the Ohio Association of School Business Officials (OASBO).

Mrs. Weber received both the Regional Distinguished Service Award and the Virginia Ramsey Service Award during the OASBO Annual Workshop and Trade Show in Columbus. The Virginia Ramsey Award is the highest given to school business officials in the state of Ohio.

Mrs. Weber was recognized for her service leadership to the Southwest Ohio region. Wyoming City Schools Treasurer Ronda Johnson nominated Weber for her coaching spirit.

The Regional Distinguished Service Award, which recognized five school business officials in the state for significant contributions to their profession. Of the five award recipients, one is chosen to receive the Virginia Ramsey Award.

Mrs. Weber has been serving Sycamore Community Schools since 1999. As treasurer,  her duties include overseeing the budgeting process, financial planning and analysis, payroll, purchasing, and the accounts payable process. Weber also coordinates financial matters between the district and state, local, and federal authorities.

In 2018, the Treasurer’s Department received the Ohio Auditor of the State Award with Distinction for the fourth year in a row. The department was also awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Report for the 26th consecutive year. By utilizing financial parameters since 2005, the district has kept operating spending increases at 1% per year.
