SHS Senior Ranks in Top 50 in National Chemistry Olympiad
A Sycamore High School student just ranked in the Top 50 in the National Chemistry Olympiad.
Senior Daniel Leong was recognized by the American Chemistry Society as placing in the Top 50 of more than 1,000 students across the nation who participated in the National Chemistry Olympiad Exam. Leong was nominated, based on his local competition exam results, to attend a study camp for the chance to compete on the US team.
The National Examination is a three-part, four-hour and 45-minute exam consisting of multiple-choice, problem-solving and lab practical questions.
2018 graduate Max Guo also was named in the top 50 after competing in April. Leong and Guo received High Honors and a certificate from the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad national office.
