Board Approves Misty Belfrom as New Special Education Supervisor
Sycamore Community Schools is excited to name Misty Belfrom as the new Special Education Supervisor for the district. The Board of Education approved Belfrom’s hire at the June 2 meeting.
“Mrs. Belfrom will be an excellent addition to our district leadership team,” said Stacey Spencer, Director of Student Services. “She is highly passionate about supporting students, staff, and families who have unique needs, and works diligently to ensure that all students have the same opportunity as their peers to succeed.”
Belfrom will rejoin the Sycamore Family after leaving the district in 2020 to serve as the principal of Highview Sixth Grade Center in Middletown Schools. She previously served as assistant principal, Special Education Department Supervisor, and intervention specialist at Sycamore Junior High School.
“I am thrilled about taking on the role of Special Education District Supervisor and being able to work with my Sycamore family once again,” said Belfrom. “Although I enjoy building leadership, my passion has always been working with students who have exceptionalities and their families. I am truly looking forward to joining the Office of Student Services to support our most vulnerable learners.”
Belfrom earned her Bachelor of Art in psychology (minor in business management) from Wittenberg University, her Master of Education in Special Education from the University of Cincinnati, and her Principal Certification from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Belfrom’s will join the district on August 4. She is replacing Suzanne Longworth who is resigning at the end of the school year.
