Consultation and Monitoring

English Learners who exit the ESOL program are monitored for up to four years after exiting. Students exit the program by achieving an overall score of 3 on the Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment (OELPA). The ESOL teacher and classroom teacher(s) periodically consult to determine student success and the effectiveness of the current instructional practices. The student’s standardized assessment data and class performance data around the mastery of content standards are collected in order to monitor student progress.
