This year’s homecoming parade will take place on Friday, October 2. The route begins at 4:45 p.m. at the City of Montgomery parking lot on Shelley Drive and continues down Remington, Zig Zag and Cooper Road to Sycamore Junior High. This year’s theme is “Aves Around The World.”
A homecoming tailgate will follow the parade in the end zone at Bud Acus Field at Sycamore Stadium. There will be hamburgers and hotdogs available, as well as entertainment from Q102. Kickoff against Princeton High School is set for 7 p.m. You can purchase game tickets at Sycamore High School’s Athletic Office. Staff members can present their school ID badge for free admission to the game along with one free guest.
For the first time in its history, Aviator Flight Fest will coincide with Homecoming Weekend. The event has added a 10K race this year in addition to the annual 5K race on Saturday, October 3. Pre-registration ends on September 29. Runners can still register at the gate before the homecoming game. For more information about registration and race routes, visit www.aviatorflightfest.com Proceeds benefit Sycamore Junior High School.
The homecoming dance will be held on Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Doors close at 9:30 p.m. Students are welcome to bring a date or come by themselves or with a group of friends. Students can be picked up beginning at 11 p.m. Tickets to the dance will be sold during lunch Wednesday, September 30 through Friday, October 2.
A friendly competition is planned between class levels to see who has the most Aviator pride during Spirit Week, beginning Monday. Students are encouraged to dress for the theme of each day. On Thursday, October 1, several high school students will lead Sycamore’s first ever high school-junior high pep rally at Sycamore Stadium. The high school will hold its own student pep rally on Friday, October 2 after 7th bell.

Sycamore High School is preparing to celebrate Homecoming Weekend on October 2-3. Students, families, former alumni and the community are invited to participate in the festivities and show their Aviator spirit.
