"Sycamore High School's Aves Theatre presents "Bring It On The Musical" April 8-9 and April 15-16. Sycamore High School is one of only 10 schools in the country that are producing this brand new musical this spring. The production features excellent singing, choreography, acting, and tumbling.
"Bring It On" features great new music by Tom Kitt, who you may recognize from "Next to Normal" and "If/Then", and Lin-Manuel Miranda, best known for "Hamilton" and "In the Heights." Sycamore Alum Kate Rockwell orginated the role of "Skylar" in the Broadway Production.
"Bring It On" tells the story of Truman High’s peppy upper-crust cheer captain Campbell, whose world is rocked when she is suddenly redistricted to the lower-class Jackson High School. Campbell must learn how to adapt to her new surroundings and help the Jackson dance crew reach Nationals.
The set was designed by Joe Leonard but was built by students. The costumes were created by our student costume team under the direction of Mrs. Patt Zurlinden.
Tickets are available online at www.avestheatre.org/tickets for $10. Tickets also may be purchased the week of the show in the SHS Commons during lunch, April 7-8, 14-15, 11:36-12:36, or at the door on show nights; box office opens 6:30 p.m.
