Sycamore High School DECA Students District Results
Recently Sycamore DECA competed at Districts and 88 students qualified for the State competition that will be held Columbus March 9-10. Sycamore had 27 students come in first place, 32 students place second, 20 students place third, 15 students place fourth, and 4 students place fifth in their respective events.
Last year Sycamore was named Most Outstanding Chapter in the State and they hope to be named it again this year! Click Here for the full list of the students that qualified for State, their respective events, and their place at Districts.
DECA is the co-curricular component of marketing education that provides a program of student activities relating to marketing and marketing educations This class is offered to students starting freshman year all the way through senior year. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.
DECA is a project-based learning class that allows students to integrate classroom instruction into real-world business problems. Students complete a variety of projects throughout the year working alongside companies such as Kings Island, FC Cincinnati, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pro Camps, along with many others.
During students senior year of DECA they take part in an internship program allowing them to apply what they have learned and put it into action. These internships range from local nonprofits such as Operation Give Back and Ride Cincinnati to local businesses that include Mercadez Benz or Bridal and Formal.
