LEGO League Teams Continue To Dominate Competition
Sycamore Community Schools students participating in FIRST LEGO League (FLL) continue to excel during this season of competition.
Four teams competed at the Cincinnati State FLL Regional Tournament on December 3. The Omegabots, featuring students from Sycamore High School, Sycamore Junior High, and E.H. Greene Intermediate, won the 2nd place Champion’s Award and Best Coach Award and advanced to the iSPACE District FLL Tournament. The Digibots, representing E.H. Greene and Sycamore Junior High, also finished in the top five overall and will advance to the district tournament on January 21. The Sycamore Dragons and Blue Ash LEGO Masters also competed in at the event.
Scientific Touch FLL, which features Sycamore Junior High student Arushi Sharma, has also advanced to the iSPACE District FLL Tournament next month, winning both the Robotic Performance Award and Champion’s Award.
Meanwhile, several Sycamore High School students have advanced to the FIRST Tech Challenge Ohio Championship as an alternate team. The Radical Six won the Connect Award at the FIRST Tech Challenge Newark OH Qualifying Tournament. The award is given to the team that best connects the dots between community, FIRST, and the business world.
Several other FLL teams including Cre8ten, Cyber Hawks, Brick Girls, JT-A-Team, L-Zone will be competing in upcoming regional events. We would like to wish all of the teams good luck in their upcoming competitions and congratulate them on their hard work.
