Mark Zimmerly

Mark ZimmerlyMark Zimmerly joined Sycamore Community Schools in July 2023 as the Director of Support Services. Zimmerly brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership and a passion for making a positive impact on students and the community.

Zimmerly has demonstrated his commitment to educational excellence throughout his career. He will be overseeing the district’s maintenance and facilities teams, as well as managing the remainder of our Master Facility projects, safety and security, and other additional student operations alongside Director of Business Operations Brad Lovell. 

In the 2022-2023 school year, Zimmerly served as an Assistant Principal at Northwest High School while also contributing to the Federal Programs Office at Northwest Local Schools. During this time, he provided support to the administrative staff while gaining a comprehensive understanding of the district's operations.

Zimmerly's leadership capabilities were further recognized this past March when he was appointed as the Interim Principal at White Oak Middle School, where he successfully guided the school through the remainder of the academic year. 

Zimmerly has also served as the Assistant Principal at Northwest High School since the 2015-2016 school year. During his tenure, Zimmerly demonstrated his dedication to student success by leading various professional learning community (PLC) groups focused on graduation rates, attendance, and performance index. He also facilitated weekly math data meetings and provided ongoing professional development for staff. In addition, Zimmerly played an active role in district-wide committees covering topics such as Student Learning Objectives (SLOs), district data analysis, high school redesign, and coordinated testing plans.
