Kelly Wegener

Kelly Wegener Kelly Wegener began serving as Assistant Superintendent of Sycamore Community Schools in July 2021. She joined the district in 2018 as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, overseeing all issues related to teaching and learning for grades PK-12 in partnership with appropriate leadership. She also works collaboratively with department supervisors, subject leaders, and staff to ensure best practices across all grade levels.

Wegener has been a passionate educator for over 30 years. She spent the first 18 years of her career as a math teacher at Lakota High School and Lakota Ridge Junior High. The next 4 years, she served as a Math Curriculum Specialist in Lakota Local Schools. In 2012, her career led her to Hamilton County ESC as an Education Consultant. Kelly was also a varsity track coach for Lakota until 2017. She earned her bachelor's degree in math education from Bowling Green State University and her masters degree from Xavier University in school counseling. Kelly also has a license in educational administration from Xavier University.

Kelly is married to her husband, Gus, and they have 2 children, Rachel and Ben. Her mantra is "choose joy" and she strives to live that out each day.
